Places To Go

Aurora Reservoir

Aurora Reservoir is a place we have visited a few times. The nature center is an educational stop that allows you to talk to a park ranger, learn about the local ecosystem and activities for children. There is no charge to visit the nature center only.

Bonus area that we haven’t used, yet, is the seasonal kayak and paddleboard rental shop.

Cherry Creek State Park

Cherry Creek State Park is one of our favorite parks to visit. There are five different spots that are our “go to” spots. The spot near the boat launch, beach area, near the dam, and Wetlands Area offer a view, place to art and the beauty of nature.

There are many picnic tables and benches which are great for lunch in the park.

Nature Viewing Area at Jewell Wetlands Park

Jewell Wetlands

Jewell Wetlands is a 50-acre park with a trail that is about 1-mile long. There are seating areas along the way for birdwatching, photography, and taking a moment to enjoy the breeze.

There is also a small pond for fishing and butterfly garden within the park.
