Denver CityPass allows you to visit multiple attractions for up to a  40% discounted rate.  You can choose 3, 4, or 5 attractions, including the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, Denver Art Museum, Denver Botanical Gardens, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Downtown Aquarium, History Colorado Center, and Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum.  

We used the Philadelphia CityPass a long, long time ago.  It was a great way to save money and time.  Based on that experience, we would use CityPASS again when traveling.  We would also recommend it to our friends and family.

Free Day At Denver Museum Of Nature and Science

Free Days in 2021

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science offers Free Days throughout the year. 

The remaining free days in 2021 are:

  • Wednesday, June 30- Free Night
  • Wednesday, August 11- Free Night
  • Wednesday, September 1- Free Night
  • Monday, September 20- Free Day
  • Monday, October 4- Free Day, Out at the Museum: LGBTQ Community Day
  • Saturday, November 6-Night at the Museums
  • Monday, December 6- Free Day

We are grateful to have attended free days in the past. Before COVID, admission was first come, first serve – or entry. Due to COVID, admission tickets are needed for all museum visits – even for free days.

The last time we went to a free day the tickets became available about a week or two before the actual free day.  There were also a limited number of tickets available.  

We do recommend checking with the museum prior to your visit to see if there are any restrictions or changes in dates and times due to COVID.

Blue Star Museums

From May 5, 2021, to September 6, 2021, there is free Museum Admission for the active-duty United States military personnel and up to five of their family members. Proof of eligibility required – active military ID.

Colorado K-12 Teachers/Educators

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science offers free admission to Colorado K12 educators.  A valid staff ID is required as proof of eligibility.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Discount

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science has a program that is known as Museums for All.  The program offers museum admission for $1 per person up to 10 people in your party when a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) (SNAP) EBT card is presented. Everyone in your group needs a timed ticket, including adults, all children under three, and babies.

You must stop at the ticket window with your EBT card to verify eligibility. You will be charged the full ticket price if you are unable to verify eligibility.

College Students

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science offers a 10% discount off Museum admission, IMAX, Planetarium, or temporary exhibition tickets with a college ID.

Local Libraries

Do you live in the Denver Metro Area?  Many local libraries have a partnership that allows you to reserve a free pass for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  Each library has its own rules and restrictions.  Please make sure you read the details before reserving and visiting.

Typically, each reservation system requires a library card.  The requirements to get a library card may vary.  There is usually a limit to how often you can get a free pass.  

Due to COVID, the pass may require a timed entry ticket with the museum or other procedures to be followed.  Please read the full details on the site to make sure you have a great experience!

Arapahoe Library – The Arapahoe Library offers Exploration Passes.  The pass allows for the admission of up to seven people.

City of Westminster – The City of Westminster offers an Adventure Pass.  This pass allows for the admission of up to seven people.

Denver Library – The Denver Library offers museum passes.  This program allows you to reserve a pass for the day of your visit.  The pass allows for the admission of up to seven people. 

Douglas County Library – The Douglas County Library has an Adventure Pass.  This program allows you to reserve a pass for the museum up to 14 days in advance.  The pass allows admission for up to seven people.

Jefferson County Library – The Jefferson County Library has a Cultural Pass.  This program allows admission for up to seven people.

Denver Museum Of Nature & Science Membership

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science Membership is the way to go if you plan on visiting the museum multiple times throughout the year.  

This year we purchased the Family Plus Membership.  The benefit of the membership is that we can visit whenever. 

The membership also offers 10% off Museum Shops, T-Rex Cafe, and Deli.  There are discounts on other programs, classes, and workshops at the museum.

Do you like going to science centers and museums?  The Denver Museum of Nature & Science membership also offers free and discounted admission to more than 360 science centers and museums 90 miles outside of Denver with the ASTC Passport Program.  There are some important distance, exclusions, and membership card details with this program.  It is a great benefit!
